PRESS RELEASE
New kind of ad agency is a breakthrough for the environment
February, 2008

Chicago, Illinois –Agency veteran Peggy Atkins is taking her 25-plus years in the ad business—and her network—and opening up an entirely new kind of advertising agency.

It’s called imagine works. And it’s the kind of company that’s needed more than ever in an era of global warming, overconsumption, wealth disparity and shrinking natural habitats. imagine works is the ad agency for the generation that will make the world a greener and better place.

“The time is right for this kind of agency,” notes Atkins, who will be imagine works’ president. “It’s a chance to do something good for the world. And it will provide an opportunity for a lot of dedicated ad people to give something back.”

imagine works will create, produce and run advertising campaigns that publicize efforts and initiatives that lead to a better world. Such efforts might include sustainable construction, alternative fuels, hybrid-engine technology, carbon footprint-reduction programs, recycling programs, co-op farming and helping the homeless. This will be the only advertising that imagine works will engage in.

“Advertising is a form of persuasion and should be used in our personal lives for things we are passionate about,” Atkins points out, quoting her idol, advertising legend Bill Bernbach (who worked on the Energy Conservation Program in 1977). “I’m very passionate about issues affecting our earth and affecting those in need. And I want to apply the same ideals to my new agency that Bill Bernbach built his own agency on.”

imagine works will do advertising “on behalf of the earth.”
